Our daughter had been receiving speech therapy for 5 years before we had the blessing of meeting Lynn. We came to her for an independent speech evaluation because all the years of speech therapy didn’t seem to make much improvement in our daughter’s fluency, articulation, and intelligibility. Lynn was “a breath of fresh air”. She spent so much time with us uncovering the layers of Caitie’s complex diagnosis. She didn’t make light of her multiple diagnoses, but simplified the diagnoses using clear language and common sense strategies to maximize her potential. Her incredible knowledge and skills, use of sensory learning techniques, and boundless energy make her by far the BEST speech pathologist. We are blessed to have had Lynn in our lives. It took Caitie’s speech to a whole new level! - Joe and Corrina K.
“Lynn Ary has worked as a speech pathologist with my son, Nathaniel (an autistic 8 year old) for the past several years. Her approach has always been to treat the whole child. She deeply understands that progress can only be made when one takes into account a child's individual needs and strengths, not just the areas of weakness. She possess vast knowledge which extends far beyond the bounds of speech pathology. She recognizes that each person must follow a different path in order to make progress. The activities which she develops are child-friendly and are easy to integrate into a busy family's everyday life. As a family, we value her as a team member in our son's development.” – April Stark
“Our Son James has been seeing Lynn for four years now and there is no doubt in my mind that Lynn's efforts and treatment have significantly contributed to James' growth and success. Lynn views and treats the child as a whole.....an important concept since often times issues in one area can affect performance in others. Lynn also treats the parents, whether it be with carry-over ideas and exercises for the home or a strong shoulder to lean on in times of need. Her expertise, enthusiasm, and love of children shines through and brings results! I highly recommend Lynn-Rachel Ary.” As I always say “Everyone should be lucky enough to have a Lynn”. – Cynthia C.
“Thank you for helping Daniel find his voice.” – Nicki and Jay
“My son has an autism spectrum disorder and also suffers from apraxia. We have been going to Lynn for 4 years now and have seen major improvements in both his speech, eye contact and interaction. Working with him once a week at her office allows me to be part of his learning and watch his progress, as well as receive information from Lynn on the latest techniques, workshops and literature. He begs to go to her office and when we are there we are working, but he sees it as fun and games - he is motivated to learn with Lynn and to us, that makes all the difference! I highly recommend working with her!!! ” – Linda
“Our family was very fortunate when our autistic son was referred to Lynn for a professional speech evaluation. The written report provided by Lynn gave us the clarity to better structure our son’s educational programs, both at the school and in our home. The knowledge that she provided empowered us to advocate for our son and get the services that he needed from our school district. In fact, Lynn established such a great rapport with our son during the evaluation process that we decided that we had to continue the relationship. My wife, my son and I all attend the counseling/therapy sessions and we find Lynn to be very energetic and engaging. We all learn something new on each visit.” – Dan and Mary C.
“ Lynn is no ordinary speech pathologist!! I first started taking my son to her when he was three years old based on the recommendation of his neurologist. I was told by the neurologist that he had seen amazing things happen to the kids that had worked with Lynn. Well, it turned out to be true!! One of Lynn’s greatest strengths is her power positive attitude and her high energy. She meets the child at whatever level and mood he is in on each and every visit. She is extremely flexible and really “gets it”. She provides the special one on one attention that is only possible through her private practice. She is creative and always involves the parent which is so critical for carry over at home. Most importantly, she believes in identifying the STRENGTHS of the child, not just the weaknesses. She then helps you learn how to make the most of those strengths which often time end up helping to develop the weak areas.
Although she is a highly trained speech pathologist, I have always looked at her as being part occupational therapist. Her sessions incorporate lots of movement and motor planning. You will be jumping on a trampoline, throwing balls, riding scooters and running through obstacle courses! Your child will actually have fun!! She helps the picky eater by incorporating “snack time” into the session. She helped my son tremendously by teaching him “how” to try new foods. She has toys that help with fine motor development and so many wonderful games that incorporate speech and planning. She also helped my son to develop his play skills by including his siblings or other clients into some of the sessions. We used lots of role playing and it really helped! Lynn was also able to help my son with many of his sensory needs.
We went to Lynn for over three years and I attribute much of my son’s success to her sessions and coaching. His speech has improved tremendously, and I am happy to say that he is a very confident and happy young boy! Lynn is a therapist with tons of experience who will really connect with your child. I really cannot say enough good things! Lynn is a person who can make a REAL difference in your child’s development.” – Chris C.
“When our daughter was struggling in school and having difficulty making friends because of her speech-language deficits, a friend suggested that we call Lynn Rachel Ary for an evaluation. Her insight, knowledge and recommendations were invaluable and we continued to work with Lynn on a weekly basis. We were impressed with the way she put 100% of herself into her work and it was reflected in the progress we saw in our daughter. Thank you Lynn.” – Colleen and Jerry
“When my daugter was first diagnosed with a receptive and expressive speech and language problem, she was almost five years old and already in Kindergarten. I felt like we couldn't waste any time. Although she received services from her school district, the kind of communication and education I needed as a parent did not happen until I took her to Lynn-Rachel Ary for private therapy. Her personalized methods not only helped my husband and I understand our daughter's challenges better but armed us with strategies to to further help our daughter at home. Overall, she has made significant progress in her processing and expressive language since beginning therapy with Lynn.” – Jeanine Rado.
“I would call her the “Miracle Worker”!!! The sessions she had with my son, Syron for Apraxia, helped him to improve his communication at school and home tremendously. I loved how she educated me on how to assist him also. We believe Lynn to be more than just a dedicated professional, but a lifetime friend who showed us light at the end of the tunnel.” – Rose Freeman
“Lynn has been a wonderful and nurturing therapist to our son who has dyspraxia and sensory processing issues which were identified at 18 months when he only spoke a few words. She has been a fantastic support and has offered us great guidance to successfully improve communication. She has a fun and flexible approach during the sessions. It is very reassuring to know our son is progressing and having fun while we are also learning on this journey of language disorder.” – Margaret K.
“Lynn started working with my son when he was diagnosed at age five with dyspraxia. She has been a great therapist helping Anthony and guiding me in understang the educational, developmental, physical and learning needs of my special child. Speech pathology is more than speech therapy. It is a more wholistic aprroach to the problems of seeing, processing, decoding and delivering speech as a language. The road has been challenging but my son ,now age nine, has made alot of progress with the help and support ,of Lynn.” – Cynthia L.
“I have been with Ms. Ary for two years now and am very pleased with the quality of service she provides. My children adore her and look forward to going to therapy. I love that she integrates her speech/language therapy with sensory processing therapy using various equipment. I appreciate that she includes the parents in the therapy process and is open to giving advice and guidance and being responsive in learning new information in order to improve herself and service. I’m Nora and was diagnosed with Auditory Processing Disorder and dyslexic at the age of 45. Listening is the most basic skill you need to communicate. To read you need a strong language base. You have to make the connection between a sound and a written sign. Auditory problem did not mean that I was deaf. It just meant that I could not make the difference between sounds. I hear the sounds but I did not “understand” them. Throughout my life, I struggled in school, work and/or having conversations. However, I gave life a chance and with support from family, and friends who supported me in seeking out help throughout my life. Over the course of these past several years, I received understanding of my disability through the assistance of Lynn Ary a Speech Therapist. I am greatful to Lynn for learning how to sound out words, exercise, listen to music and purchased equipment. Today, I continue to work as a Social Worker, and when people tell me they have a Learning Disability, I share my story and tell them help is available to people. “DO NOT GIVE UP”.
